Back In The Studio...On With The Show!

We're back in the studio today after the snowglobe tragedy... Enjoy today's website!

I talked about this today... FlightExplorer.com
With Christmas Eve fast approaching, Flight Explorer, the world’s leading provider of real-time global flight tracking information, in partnership with Santa’s Workshop, has launched its free Santa Claus tracking service. Visitors can now view what Flight Explorer air traffic expert Rally Caparas believes will be Santa’s route of choice around the globe. You can also watch Santa and his reindeer perform some practice runs around the North Pole. On Christmas Eve, Flight Explorer and Santa tracking helper SkylineGlobe.com will begin tracking Santa at 6:00 a.m. [ET]. Flight Explorer will provide 3D visual updates on Santa’s location throughout the day. In addition, visitors will also be able to track and see the likely route that Santa will take to get from his location to their house.

Snowglobe did it....

Yesterday, I dropped the ball, or should I say snow globe on the Country 105.5 studio control board. It was a tiny snow globe, but it did a ton of damage... There are supposed to be sliders where the big empty space is...

Here's where those sliders are now...in a box.
Our sad control board brutally victimized by a runaway snow globe!
What's left of the perpetrator...
Since the our control board completely fried out, we've had to move the studio to a new location...we'll be here until at least Monday the engineer says.

Listener Appreciation Fun

Saturday we held our first Listener Appreciation Party at The Block. It was awesome! The Block was packed out by 8pm. Gave away a ton of prizes which included a trip to Nashville and a diamond pendant necklace.

Cowboy Crush did this show for us and they were great! I got to go hang out back stage with the 5 piece girl group. When I got to the green room, they were all hanging out watching "Hitch" The drummer, Darla , offered to mix me up a drink. I drank it up thirstily and caught a few minutes of the movie with the ladies.

Once we played games and gave all the prizes away, we watched in amazement as Cowboy Crush stormed the stage! The fiddle player, Renae, did something with her fiddle, that I'd never heard before. It sounded like she was playing an electric guitar. Busting out some Jimi Hendrix! It was crazy! Come to find out, she also used to play with Charlie Daniels Band... rockin!

Here's a picture of me and Miss Badonkadonk...
Can't wait to do it again next year!!

Leno Chip

I'm more of a Letterman guy, but enjoy Leno too from time to time...

Saw it on Ebay today... The Leno Chip

Bidding ends: November 30th
With 20 bids, current bid at press time: $20.50
"Up for auction is a one-of-a-kind picture of Jay Leno on a potato chip. Believe it or not, this has not been altered in any way. This potato chip came out of the bag just like this, it is very unbelievable."

The defect in the chip does favor Leno... if you win it, you gotta come on my show...

Welcome Back From Turkey Day

Had a super weekend... I launched my other website I use for my new geocaching hobby.

My team name is GravelShot, so... www.gravelshot.com

Did quite a bit of caching this weekend... check it out!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's that time of the year! Turkey sandwiches, and family visits. My folks are coming in from Texas tonight. My wife is getting the Turkey ready and the stuffing stuffed.

What am I thankful for this year? The top of the list, my health, my wonderful wife and beautiful boys, and wonderful family, a second chance at my career after voluntarily giving it up, the great people I work with everyday, my listeners, and all the little things.

This weekend, I plan on getting stuffed with some turkey dinner, go on a geocaching trip with my son and my Dad (it'll be his first trip!) Radio people also have to work on this holiday... Memorial day is the other one.

I hope you have a super Thanksgiving and thank you for reading!

Just once please

It was guys night out yesterday. My son Trale and I went to go see the new animated movie "Flushed Away" It was great! We give it two thumbs up!

In the car, on the way to the movies. Trale asked, "Are we going to the movies now?" "Are we going to the movies now?" "Are we going to the movies now?" "Are we going to the movies now?".... no that's not a typo.

I said "Trale, you only have to say things once. I heard you the first time. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

Trale says, "OK, OK, OK!"

Haha!! It's all I could do!

Treasure Hunting Excitement!

Today, me and my 4 year old son Trale, went Geocaching for the first time. It's glorified treasure hunting! You need a GPS receiver to find the many different geocaches boxes placed by others all over the world!

We made our first adventure this morning before work at the Mary Esther Nature Trail near 98. The nature trail was really neat. Who knew we had such a neat gem?

After about 15 minutes of walking and searching with our GPS, we found it! The rules are that you leave an item and take an item from the geocache container. Today it was a little rubbermaid container. It had a ton of stuff inside!

Trale thought we had to take the whole box so "pirates wouldn't come and take it!" Haha! I had to explain to him the rules.

I have pictures on my Geocaching site www.GravelShot.com. I'll post my finds there for the future hunts.

I'm now in the digital age!

I'm pretty nerdy when it comes to any kinds of machine that plugs in and computes things. But the one thing I've been without this entire time is a digital camera. Yesterday I did it! No more film, no more dirty looks from the tourists!

My first digital camera mission... The Sammy Kershaw concert. It took me a little while to learn the settings, but I think I did alright.

Great show, but what was up with the teleprompter Sammy?

The Hwy 98 Blues

Another Todd Rant!

Who didn't sit in traffic today on 98 coming into Ft. Walton Beach today? The 4 or 5 car accident plugged things up for sure. On top of that, Hurlburt Field was conducting a training exercise. Not to mention that two school zones are on a major thoroughfare... Some were stuck in traffic for nearly 2 hours! Woof!

Help us somebody!! Build an overpass at Hurlburt to bypass the daily madness.. and let's figure out a better way for school zones on what are now major roads.

This is Ft. Walton Beach, not Los Angeles!

CMA SNAFU and other observations

Don't know how I missed the biggest controversy of the CMA's last night, but now I can see why. It was fast... I you missed it, it's Faith Hill, who seems a little miffed she didn't win or that Carrie Underwood won. See for yourself.

There was a lot of outrage this morning on Handsome and Hussey against Faith Hill. Some said she has lost touch with her fan base. I think Carrie Underwood deserved the awards she won. It was a huge year for her!

My POV other Random Thoughts from last night's CMA's...
Kix Brooks set a new record for crappy jokes at 7. Actually some were pretty good.

The ladies of the night looked smokin' hot! Carrie Underwood, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland... Grrrr...

Was Gretchen Wilson sick? She looked like she was lip sync-ing last night.

How many awards did Brooks and Dunn win? Makes you wonder if hosting the show ever pulls favor. They have had a great year though!

Did anybody notice the intentional slip about Dierks Bentley being married. When did that happen? Or was that when he came out of the closet about it?

How 'bout those Creepy shades on Rascal Flatts singer Gary Levox. Or maybe he was hiding a butt whoopin'?

Props on Miranda Lambert for rocking out and smashing her guitar! She won points with me!

Did you see... no wedding ring on Sara Evans last night. To compensate, she wore a 10 carat ring on her other hand!

Here's the list of winners, in case you missed it:
Single of the Year: "Believe" - Brooks & Dunn
Vocal Group of the Year: Rascal Flatts
Vocal Duo of the Year: Brooks & Dunn
Male Vocalist of the Year: Keith Urban.
Horizon Award: Carrie Underwood
Female Vocalist of the Year: Carrie Underwood
Album of the Year: "Time Well Wasted" - Brad Paisley
Entertainer of the Year: Kenny Chesney
Song of the Year: "Believe" - Craig Wiseman and Ronnie Dunn
Musical Event of the Year:
"When I Get Where I’m Going" - Brad Paisley (f/ Dolly Parton)
Music Video of the Year: "Believe" - Brooks & Dunn

Halloween Goodness

My Halloween Night... with a Power Ranger on my right, a hobo clown on the left, we headed down the street in search of kid's gold... candy!

I had a great time! We got through most of the houses on the street in about 30 minutes... most of the houses on the street teamed up in 3's. So we hit three houses at once about 5 times. We got back. Ate some candy. Trale showed some restraint munching on some sugary goodness. But, Mason ate about a pound of it, he kept hi-jacking candy from the bag. In about an 15 minutes he was buzzing around like a bee. Giggling histerically and darting back and forth at a 100 mph! He finally crashed and went to sleep on the couch!

The new neighbors are pretty cool. Seems like the street is one big family.

Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet

Happy Halloween! I'm taking both of my boys out trick or treating tonight. The kids have an exclusive contract with me, signed in blood (just kidding,) saying, I get a 10% cut of all the booty which must include at least one peanut butter cup per kid, 6 pieces of candy corn(no broken ones), and anything with the word chocolate in the ingredients. Lastly, any wierd sour candy is strictly forbitten.

I'm sure I'll have stories tomorrow... stay tuned!

Why does the time change again?

I know... it was created for the kids who had to pick the cotton in the summer time a long time ago. All kids do now is surf myspace and play xbox. Do we really need time changes anymore?

My kids wake up at the crack of dawn... and in Florida during daylight savings time, that's about 6:30am... now that we're back to standard time, it's 5:30am!! Ouch!

Get rid of time changes or at least move the eastern time zone over some.

Less sleep = Grumpy daddy :)

Got Bored... Went to Walmart

Last night, there was no way I was going to watch America's Next Top Model with my wife. So, I grabbed my 4-year-old son Trale and we went to Walmart!

First up, Halloween stuff. We tried on all the masks, he set off one of those automated skulls that talks... he jumped about three feet in the air and three feet back. I was rolling laughing... he got a giggle out of it too afterwards.

Next, all the toys! Trale is really into Power Rangers... I'm digging the hot wheels race tracks (like I did as a kid!) We probably played with the toys for 30 minutes! It was a blast.

Now I'm pooped from surfing Walmart... Good Night Now!

In the Spam Box Today

This is hilarious... My Mom sent this one to me this morning,

Dear Tech Support:
This summer I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 103, Football 5.0, Hunting and Fishing 7.5, and Racing 3.6. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0. Please help!

Thanks,
Troubled User.. (KEEP READING)

*****REPLY:
Dear Troubled User:
This is a very common problem that men complain about.

Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0. It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed.

You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony-Child Support. I recommend that you keep Wife 1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation.

The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway.

Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance. Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0, Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2.

However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5. Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 !

WARNING!!! DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3. This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

Best of luck,
Tech Support

I'm a Manly Man!... sometimes...

Interesting topic this morning on Handsome and Hussey about Manly Men. It was about what men and women perceive what was manly. The listeners discussed some famous "manly men" like John Wayne, Lance Armstrong, George Strait...

Of course, my self-doubting self asks, "am I manly?" Let's add up the manly points: Like watching Gilmore Girls with my wife last night. I griped, when first dating Holli, about watching that show many years ago. Now, I kinda enjoy the fast ramblings of Lorelei Gilmore. Does that make me un-manly? [-1 point] I also watch Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, National Geograpic Channel... is that manly, or just nerdy? [+1 point] I like Hunting and Fishing, and Hiking, does that help my chances for being manly? [+3 points] I like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain too....[-3 Points]

Total Manly points: 0

I admit it! Sometimes I have trouble being a manly man...a result of marriage, kids, maybe getting older... oh well, I give up!

I think I'll just settle for being semi-manly me. Enjoy!

Weekend de Mullet

I need one of those shirts that say "I Survived Mullet Festival!" What a weekend!

This was my third Mullet Festival in Niceville... and it was, I think, one of the biggest! There were so many people there! Every night was packed!

Friday, Mike and I headed up there to put up our banners. Did you notice? They were everywhere! The top of my head got sun burned and a Niceville Police Officer was looking at me funny when we put a banner right in front of his post. Mike will have to tell you that story. Blake Shelton rocked the show! I don't think anybody noticed when I was on stage, that Blake's mic stand stood taller than me!
I can't believe the number of people inside the festival on Saturday night. Lonestar was that evening's entertainment. Ran into these two girls that were huge country music and Country 105.5 fans, so much that they got jackets made just for the Mullet Festival. I brought them backstage to meet the band and they just flipped with joy! It's always great to see there are still some crazy wild country fans out there!

Well, I made it to Sunday's show, with just a little steam left. People were still suprised that Travis Tritt was there since he was added to the lineup late. He was on stage for two and a half hours! What a great show, one of the best I've ever seen. He played all of his music, some Cash, some Waylon... pretty awesome way to wrap up the show.

I ate lots of food, rode some rides, met lots of listeners... oh, and I didn't run anybody over this year with the van... that's good.

First Sara Drama... Now Urban Drama...

BREAKING NEWS: Keith Urban Back in Rehab

Keith Urban, who has been open about his past struggles with cocaine and alcohol, checked himself into an unidentified rehab facility last night (Thursday). New wife Nicole Kidman, who had been in Rome promoting a film, Fur, was by his side. In a statement released today (Friday), Keith says, "I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me. One can never let one's guard down on recovery and I'm afraid that I have. With the strength and unwavering support I am blessed to have from my wife, family and friends, I am determined and resolved to a positive outcome."

Keith once said of addiction, "I don't know that you ever beat it." This isn't his first trek into rehab -- he did a stint after his trio, The Ranch, disbanded in 1998. A bio on a fan site, [UrbanIntensity.com], quotes Keith as saying, "I started finding solace in unhealthy things as a way to just kind of deal with it, you know...What started out as a recreation became a little more evil...It got to the point where I was just physically a wreck and it was time to do something." After a stint in rehab, he emerged, he later said, with a renewed love for making music.

Although Keith's new C-D, Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing, is still set to arrive in stores November 7th, his appearances to promote it have been postponed.

This is soooo cool...if you're a big nerd like me

I stumbled upon something yesterday while surfing around Woot! They had a GPS device on there for sale. Typically, I wouldn't care much about GPS, but I saw a site called geocaching.com in the forum discussion.

Turns out, geocaching is a fairly popular activity. I call it "glorified treasure hunting." You need a GPS to play. Other enthusiasts hide "caches" everywhere around the world. They give you the coordinates and you go find it! It will have a log book in there to document your presence and you take an item out of the box and replace it with an item of yours.

I think treasure hunting is so much fun... and surprisingly there are tons of caches here in the Emerald Coast area. There is one at the cemetary in Ft. Walton Beach, the Mary Esther nature trail, and tons more, the searching never ends!

So as soon as my wife will let me buy one, I'll see you on the trail...

Mullet Festival

I'm getting ready for Mullet Festival...the fish, not the hair-do! It's the weekend where I work about 60 of the 72 hours of the event! I have a really great time! Lots of great music and I get to meet a lot of folks, our true die-hard Country Music and Country 105.5 fans.

Blake Shelton is there Friday, Lonestar on Saturday and Travis Tritt wrapping it up on Sunday evening.

Stop by and have a plate of Mullet with me...

Onions and Paparazzi

Last night, I picked up the family and went to the Circus and had a great time! As we were heading home, my wife, Holli, asks the proverbial question asked every night... "Whatcha wanna eat for dinner?" I didn't want any fast food... french fries were not calling my name. Holli said we had some hot dogs at home... sounded ok to me. She wanted an onion for the hot dogs. We stopped by the store, got home and shredded up the onions on our wonderful fast feast. They were so hot, you could mistake them for jalapenos! I woke up this morning, still smelling like onions. Ever have that person at work come to talk to you and they still smell like the Italian food they had last night? A shower and Listerine couldn't take care of the onions on me. Thank goodness you can't smell through the radio.

In my previous post about the Keith Anderson Show, I made comment about the older ladies hitting on me... I think I was set up here, the paparazzi showed up and snapped this picture of one of the "alleged" ladies...

Sara Evans Shocker!!

Shocker!: Sara Evans is getting a divorce! The mini version is that her husband is accused of cheating, trying to cheat, and being a drunkard. Sara also has a restraining order against him.

Sara is leaving Dancing With The Stars to spend time with her family and children. She was about to get booted anyway I think, but it's still a bummer for her and fans.

Here's the story, in detail, from my news pages
Sara Evans has filed for divorce from her husband, Craig Schelske, and has withdrawn from the A-B-C show Dancing With the Stars. A statement issued last night (Thursday) by her label said, "Recent events that shed light on the status of her marriage prompted Evans to make the filing, which was registered today (Thursday) with a court in Tennessee, where Evans resides. Evans felt it was in her children's best interest that she also withdraw from competition on Dancing With the Stars to give her family her full attention at this difficult time." Evans and Schelske, a one-time Congressional candidate, have been married for 13 years and have three children. The news is sure to come as a shock to both fans of Sara and the show -- Craig Schelske was spotted in the show's audience Tuesday. Producers have indicated they will not be adding an additional contestant to take her place.

Update...
When Sara Evans filed for divorce Thursday, she also took out a temporary restraining order against her husband of 13 years, Craig Schelske. Sara accuses Craig of adultery, inappropriate marital conduct (which includes taking pornographic photographs and placing personal ads soliciting sex partners), verbal and emotional abuse and excessive alcohol consumption. In her divorce action, Sara is seeking permanent custody of their three children, the couple's home in Franklin, Tennessee, child support and the division of property. Sara met Schelske, a musician from Oregon, after she moved to Nashville in 1991. They moved to Oregon in 1992 and married in 1993. They returned to Nashville in 1995, after which Sara signed to R-C-A Records. In 2002, Schelske, a Republican, ran an unsuccessful campaign for Congress.

Watch Out For The Penguins!

My 4-year-old Trale and I had a guys night yesterday and we went to the movies to see "Open Season." Great movie, I enjoyed it! Another movie where animals talk :)

Something very disturbing during the previews though... Two previews back-to-back, featuring two new animated movies with Penguins!! Penguins with different talents.

In one movie, "Happy Feet," the Penguin can sing and tries to become the Penguin Idol, I guess. In the other movie, "Surf's Up," the Penguin knows how to surf!

Kind of reminds me when "Madagascar" came out, then "The Wild" followed, and it was almost the same movie and it bombed!

I think the movies studios may be going overboard with the animated flicks. Pixar has done the best job of doing animations... they at least mix it up some and animate different things... Toys, Fish, People, Cars.

Trale and I had a great time at "Open Season." Everytime I'd reach to get some of his popcorn, he'd get on to me for stealing his popcorn. Haha! Trale's the coolest.

Some things I'm thankful for today...

**The shower head in the new house works good.

**My wife has decided that her health is important and started using the tredmill this morning. Way to go Bean!

**I'm going to see "Open Season" with my 4 year old Trale at the movies tonight.

**my co-workers always jump in to help me when I need it most :)

**I ate some of my favorite leftovers today for lunch.

I'm brain dead today...

Don't know what it is, but things just aren't clicking upstairs today. I try to use my brain, but it just ain't cooperating. I would like to talk on the radio without babbling on like a boob, but no luck today. No smart a$$ comments now...

Things are starting to settle down some... got to stay in our new place last night for the first time... one thing I notice at night there are the bombings coming from the base test missions. They are pretty loud... louder than when I lived in Navarre. It's kinda comforting in a way though. Just hope they don't miss one night. :)

Got the tv hooked up last night too... glorius glow of the TV... ;;;drooling.

Keith Anderson Concert Commentary

In my humble opinion, nothing gets the funk outta ya like rocking out at a country show. Keith Anderson certainly rocked the house at The Block last night!

Some pretty cool moments, when Ricky Lee Phelps from Kentucky Headhunters jumped on stage and smoked "Dumas Walker."

It's really cool for radio people, just as it is for the artist, to hear the crowd singing the songs. The crowd joined in to sing Keith's hit song "Everytime I Hear Your Name" It's gratifing for me because they mostly learned that song from our station.... It's like, "we helped do that!"

I hit a new record last night too... Six old ladies hit on me!

See ya at the next show...

Unpacked... yay!!

I'm a baaaadddd blogger.... Has it really been since September since my last post?

Anyway, on with the show...

I'm done moving!! 'bout time! Actually, it wasn't so bad. We were able to move directly into the new place this time... instead of storage, then a house, which is double the work. Doubling work for a lazy guy like me is no good.

Lost a few pounds in the move...it was mainly sweat. I can now bench press a kitchen table too.

Ouch!?, I just dropped a box of Baywatch rerun tapes on my foot...

But, Oprah says her lawyers overreacted when they sent him a cease-and-desist letter. Does that make me CrAzY? Maybe so...

It's my second week back on the Emerald Coast... and this moving things is making me cRaZy! It's not necessarily the actual back breaking part of moving... It's my wife and kids, who themselves, are beginning to go stir crazy from staying at our temporary housing on the island. I feel their pain, literally... can't you tell?

I'm heading back to Texas to get the rest of our stuff... don't know where we're going to put it all... still looking for a place to live... the hunt is on!

Diaper Bag for A Real Man

Dads,
Tired of your wife's sissy winnie the pooh diaper bag you have to sling around from time to time.

This Illinois guy has come up with a diaper toting man-bag loaded with testosterone and baby wipes... check it out..

The Tactical Daddy is a 17-pocket vest is designed to hold bottles, diapers, wipes and just about anything else you need for an afternoon with the baby.

Back In The Saddle Again!

Well, I made it! Our 10 hour trip turned into 14 hours by the way... it's like getting in shape, I haven't made that trip in over a year! I had to stop every couple of hours for a rest, plus we stopped to see the mother-in-law in Alabama... that was a few hours.

I appreciate all the "welcome backs" from you on the phones and in emails yesterday. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! I'm really glad to be back! I'm not out and about yet, but I'm sure I'll be in your neck of the woods in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!

Did you see Sara Evans on Dancing With The Stars? She looked great, but didn't dance too great according to the judges... she came in second to last next to Jerry Springer. Vote for Sara! I'd like to see more of her on the show.

Road Trip

Well, things are wrapping up here in Texas. Tomorrow, we make the 10 hour trip to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. We're packed and ready! Had to buy bigger boxes for the kids to fit in... haha!Just kidding!

It's still hard to believe that we've been in Texas for a year. I just wish I could take my family with me. I know my folks will miss the grandkids. I'll miss being a lazy bum during the week, and being close to everybody. Good news is that we're not moving to Pennsylvania like the first time we moved away from Texas.

Last night, I served my last appearance with KILT. Got to hang out with the Sauza Tequila folks... yes, I got a free sample! Oh, and got to hang out with the Sauza Girls. Not a bad gig at all! A nice last hoorah with KILT.

Next time we chat, I'll be in Florida! See you then!

Packing is underway... moving sucks!

We'll the packing and overall shuffling of stuff has begun. We got 5 days to get'er done before we head off to the sunshine state!

I started with the messiest and biggest hassle, the garage. All those times I went digging through the garage boxes have caught up with me... I had to re-assemble, and re-pack most of it because I had rummaged through them many times this past year looking for something... like the extra weed-eater line. (found it by the way yesterday!)

Packing the office today... I keep getting distracted by the computer... can't you tell! Turns out it was more to deal with than the garage! I forgot about the closet full of junk and the 1,000 or so CD's I've collected over the years. Up next, the bedrooms and living room!

Can't wait to get to Florida, just hope it stays warm enough for one dip in the ocean. I'll try to keep this updated while I'm on the road and from the temporary housing during next month.

Catch up with you later.

On the road again...

The rumors of my departure are greatly exaggerated...

After toughing it out in Houston the past year, we're packing it up and moving to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. I'm going back to work at WYZB-Country 105.5 in the same capacity as I was before. Although we've enjoyed being back in Texas, it was time to get back to work. If you know anybody in radio, you know it's pretty tough to stay out of it. My wife and I loved FWB, so we're excited to get back, and grateful to get a second chance. I'll still have my little internet project in The Woodlands and plan to do some real estate in Florida.

On a serious note, it's been a pretty tough year here in Texas, lots of trials and tribulations. I've learned a lot about myself. Even during the toughest times, you can count on one thing. It's different for everybody. As Kenny Rogers has once said, "know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em."

I posted my departure announcement on my myspace page... I thought it would be fun to post some of the return comments... I have hidden names to protect the innocent.

Our visit to The Downtown Aquarium

Holli and I took the boys to the Downtown Aquarium this afternoon. We kinda had to rush because I had to be at work later, but we still had a great time.

Me and Trale rode the "Light Tower" which is like one of those falling skyscraper rides at Astroworld, but smaller and it raised you and dropped you many times. Trale from a distance was excited to ride, but when he was on the ride, he wasn't so enthusiastic. I raised my armed and said weeeee to ease Trale's fears. When I asked him to raise his arms, he very quickly said no! He held on to that bar so tight, he could've bent it. He didn't want to ride that one again!

The train ride through the Shark glass tunnel was pretty cool and relaxing. Glad the glass didn't break over us... mmm.. shark bait!

It was pretty hot as you would expect, the ferris wheel cooled us off. Mason wanted to stand up and see over the edge of the basket. That boy ain't afraid of anything it seems!

Got some big announcements coming in the next coming weeks... stay tuned!

All the best,
Todd

My new blog location

Check it out... my new blog, as you have noticed.

The myspace blog was getting too unreliable. I would type in a complete blog then get ready to post and lose it all. I'm currently using Blogger for my internet radio station. So, this was an easy choice for me.

Here you can find out what's happening with "The Todd," thoughts, rants, and pictures too.

Make sure to subscribe to my blog at the top of the page.

Thanks for visiting!

-Todd
