Which guy do you want?

In most situations, I try to be the nice guy .  Sometimes I have to be the bad guy , but it's usually warranted.  My wife might disagree that I'm a bad guy "for a reason."

Today, I read that 57% of women say they hate it when a guy is too nice.  Are you kidding?  Make up your minds ladies: Do you want us to be sweet or treat you like dirt?   Women, speak up and comment below.

I double dog dare you!

Actor Zac Efron has noted that he ate octopus on a $20 bet.  One of the golfers in yesterday's KRMD golf tournament offered another player $50 to go get his golf ball out the pond... and almost did it.  Ever do something crazy for cash on a dare??  Could this be the new economy to get us out of the recession? Cash for crazy!  Comment below with your cash daring escapades!

Sweet Tea Please

We can all agree that the government spending bailouts are a pretty crazy mess.  What I think is crazier is the people who are holding these "Tea Parties " against new taxation, distribution of wealth, and basically mad the Obama administration for all this government spending.  You know, I get it... Nobody wants taxation and all this spending, but when you see that the average family carries $8,000 or more in credit card debt, on top of their financed over-priced SUV's, and house they can't afford, I find today's "Tea Party" events very hypocritical.  It seems more like pouting that "their candidate" didn't get elected.  Additionally, I'm not so sure people read thoroughly both sides of an argument and just blindly follow the pack on these issues.  Besides, aren't most people are getting some sort of tax break anyway?

We are all to blame for the state of the economy that our "get it now, pay later" mentality has put us.  Sure! taxes suck, but I sure do enjoy the police department, schools and roads.  Believe me, we have it made compared to other countries.  Go visit one and you'll see what I mean.  The big government spending plan is outrageous, but it's a way out hopefully... and the beginning of the end of the USA's huge mound of debt.

I've said it before, it's a balance and it's compromise to get the best for everybody.  When the balance sways one direction or the other, we end up in the economic mess like we are in now.

Fight for low taxes, smaller government, but make sure we take care of what needs to be handled in our country.  I would GLADLY pay more taxes to see our schools improve, to see more police on the streets, even quality health care for all, but I better see results with my tax dollars.  That's what we should be fighting for.

All hands on deck to help get out of this mess, otherwise, let's just sit around and hold "tea parties!"

Hello Sacramento!

Throughout the year, I do many events that require me to get on a stage and talk into a mic.  I always worry I might say something stupid... most of the time that does happen.

You ever see on TV where people/stars joke about saying the wrong town at a concert.... What's up Chicago, and it's actually Boston.  I've never seen that happen... until Britney Spears.  She was supposed to say "What's up San Jose!"

Dude!

This morning on Hillary and Derek, I heard that Dierks Bentley is trying to stop saying the word "dude."  Dierks thinks he says it too much.  "Dude" sneaks into my vocabulary often too.  Which got me wondering about "dude" and where the term came from.  Hillary and I got in a heated debate.

Hillary thought "dude" came from "dude ranch."  Not true!  The term refers to a well-dressed man who have never lived outside of the city according to my favorite research nerd site Wikipedia!  First record in print in 1876!  It became big in the surfer culture in the 60's and mainstream by the 70's.

Read more that you ever would want to know about the word "Dude" here

Didn't know the Todd Blog could be so educational huh?  Dude!

Deaf Dream:

It's my new band name... I can hear it now...ok, not really.  But I did have this strange dream last night that I was suddenly deaf.  I remember thinking in my dream that I would never be able to hear my children again.  It was a pretty short nightmare-ish dream that woke me up soon after that REM -state realization.  I thought how bad it would be to be deaf after being able to hear all my life.  I worry about my hearing sometimes because of my job, listening to something all day.

Then I started thinking about those sites that do dream interpretations.  After a quick google , I found out what my deaf dream may mean.  It said:
"To dream that you are deaf, indicates that you are feeling secluded from the world, You may be closing yourself off from new experiences or shutting yourself out. "
I'm not so sure it matches with what's happening in my ol' noggin, but it was fun to find out.

Are you having any strange dreams lately?  Or should I just stop eating Taco Bell at night??

Tweeting the ACM's

The country music folks are a little slow to get on the Twitter bandwagon, but Lee Ann Womack, James Otto, and Zac Brown Band were all twittering last night during the ACM Awards show .

Some of the highlights:
Lee Ann Womack: "David copperfield is here to make people disappear so I'm going take a break and make him a list"

James Otto: "So I'm way behind because I couldn't get a signal in the hotel but I got a bus load of drunk football players going to the rascalls suite"

Zac Brown Band:  "We're taking up ballroom dancing first thing in the morning."

CMT Radio Live:  "James Otto says backstage that forgot to thank his wife and begged all media to mention that so he will stay out of the dog house."

If you're on myspace or facebook, you gotta try Twitter sometime.  It's crazy to know what certain people are doing/thinking at any given time, in real-time!  Oh... by the way, follow me on Twitter when you sign up.  Tweet away!
