No Subscription Required

Traditional radio has been threatened so many times over the 100 or so years: First it was television, cassette tapes, CD's, iPods.

Yet, after all the new gadgets, here we are: Still on the air.

The latest so-called "radio killer" was XM/Sirius Satellite radio.  When it first hit the market, listeners would always ask me, "what are y'all (AM/FM radio people) gonna do now that there is satellite?"  I said, "watch."  When it's all said and done, traditional radio will still be here.  Well, another one bites the dust...

XM/Sirius is preparing for a possible bankruptcy.  They have accumulated billions of dollars in debt, and can't repay its creditors.  Yes, some people paid to lose the commercials of a traditional radio station, but not the masses that XM/Sirius expected.    I don't imagine sat-radio will go away immediately, but who knows what will happen to them next.

As another gadget goes by the wayside, I invite you to snuggle up again to your favorite radio station.  Call the local DJ and say hi.  The slow economy has been tough on us radio broadcasters, and we need your continued support to keep us going too.  To support us, all you have to do is when you hear a commercial on the air, go by that business to spend your hard-earned dollar instead of that internet site.  When you want to hear new music, turn us on.  When you want to hear your morning friends, turn us on.  When the traffic or weather gets bad, turn us on.

We are still the only gadget where all you have to do is press the "on" button to listen.  No extra hardware or internet connection needed.  Most importantly, no subscription required.

Thanks for listening to (terrestrial) radio.

Toby Keith puts the smack down!

Some idiot decided to get drunk, flip off Toby Keith, and throw a beer at him during a concert. And the gut thought Toby would do nothing about it. Well, he was wrong! Toby stopped the concert, jumped off the stage, hunted down the guy, said a few choice words and put a boot in his, well, you know what I mean.
Check out the video of Toby in the crowd with the said drunk guy.

After the ruckus Toby apologized to crowd and called the punk an MF'er on stage!

Don't mess with TK! He'll put a boot in your, you know what.
It's the American way!

Life really boils down to 2 questions...
1. Should I get a dog.....
or
2. Should I have children?

What would you do?

Have you watched that TV show "What Would You Do" on ABC?  It's where they mock certain uncomfortable situations and see how people react while recording on hidden camera.

I was looking for the hidden camera today when a gentleman's chair collapsed under him.  He was a larger man, who you could tell was a little embarrassed because of the accident.  It was strange, because I looked over at him, as did many other people, and only after the guy gathered himself and tried to get back up, did somebody finally walk over and ask if he was ok.

Surprisingly I didn't do anything to offer any help either.  It felt like I was in one of those "What Would You Do" TV experiments.  I still feel bad for not walking over to offer assistance, because I typically would have.

What would you do if you saw a big guy break the chair he was sitting in and fall?
