Did you know that Kevin Costner sings? Me neither. Word has it, before he was a big movie star, Kevin did some singing and songwriting with a band called Roving Boy. Well, now that he's done the whole movie star thing, Kevin's got some time to do some music with his new band: Kevin Costner and Modern West.Here are a few live cuts of Modern West. Yeah, I'll have to pass on that. Not quite Gwyneth Paltrow-Cruising together. Gwyneth's is actually catchy, Cosner's leaves much to be desired.
Lots of teeny-boppers are cross overs from acting to singing. Difference is they (most of the time) actually have talent. EX: Hannah Montana!
I don't who care who comes over to country... just as long as they are passionate about country music (not just trying to make a buck) and they sound good. Most of the time the crossovers lack one of those principals.
The songs kinda lame actually. I've heard better from some of the Texas artists and worse from some of the Nashville "stars" though.
It's all about packaging and name recognition these days anyhow. So he'll be a big hit for a while I'm sure.
